The Congregation
Tonight I’m going to see my friend Gina’s band, The Congregation, play at the Chicago Recording Company studio as a part of their Spotlight Sessions series. I’m anticipating a killer show. Why? ‘Cause The Congregation rocks. Gina’s got some outrageous pipes, the guitar shreds, the drumming is explosive, the bass thumps, the horns blare and the keyboard…um…keyboards. Ok, so clearly I’m not a music critic. But I know what I like, and I like The Congregation (and hey, I even “like” them on Facebook, and you can too!).
Their first EP, Not for Sleeping, comes out on December 11th and will be available at their Record Release Party. And if you just can’t wait to hear what they have to offer, you can download their first single, He’s Gone.
Pretty soon I’ll be saying I knew Gina when…she was singing The Carpenters at Korean Karaoke bars.
