Bizarre Love…Rectangle?
When I was a young thing, my heart belonged to two dudes: Luke Skywalker and Kermit the Frog. I was pretty sure I was going to marry one of those studs. I’d watch Return of the Jedi and swoon, thinking of my life out and about in a galaxy far, far away. Or pop in the Muppets Take Manhattan tape for the billionth time and sigh and think to myself what an amazing guy that Kermit was.
Then I got a bit older, a bit wiser. And I was all “Girl, Han Solo is waaaaay hotter than Luke Skywalker and Kermit the Frog is not, technically, a ‘dude’”. Then in college I was given Weezer’s Pinkerton album, went through an “emo nerd phase” (that’s a thing, right?), and wanted that bespectacled rocker to be MINE.
So why am I posting about this today? Well, this is going to be a very momentous weekend. I will be seeing not one but TWO Weezer shows featuring the Rivers Cuomo in which they will play their first two albums, Blue and Pinkerton. Two of my most favorite albums of all time. EEEEEEEEEEEE! Also, Sunday I’ll have the great pleasure of seeing Jim Henson’s Fantastic World at the Museum of Science and Industry. I expect Kermit will be prominently featured. I may have to bring one of my two life-sized Kermit dolls with me. Gosh, I hope I don’t just pass out from all this excitement.
ALSO, I heard yesterday that Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray soon. So, clearly, this can only mean one thing…
